Visiting

Well... Here we are in beautiful Lake Havasu City right in the middle of the searing Mojave Desert. Except right now its November, and I am still wearing flip-flops. A sweater and flip-flops. How crazy is that? So LHC is much like it used to be, exept that there are more houses and much less desert. Ryan and I drove around near my house that I lived in for near ten years and there are neighbors now. Expensive looking neighbors now. Back in 1984? 0r 1985? ours was the only house on the block. Which is the way my parents liked it. At the end of the street was a cul-de-sac where all the high schoolers partied, but there are way too many homes now. On the up side, at the end of Acoma blvd, there was a trail that only 4x4s (and drunkards in a 68 mustang) can reach. And that is now closed off for desert tortoise habitat. Yay. Some preservations at least. I saw an old friend at Kmart, and a high school teacher/ college teacher who seemed disapointed that Ryan and I didn't become famous counter-culture artists. We are still punk rock, Ryan tells him. Egad! My sister-in-law Sara and her hubby Erick have the rockenest party pad ever! They finished an addition to their house, and it is a huge game-room and master suite. Its really gorgeous. Too bad Ryan and I cant stay up past 1030pm to enjoy it. We're too friggen tired/old/normal/boring.

Props to Gramma Laurie on her coffee. yum.

Oh yeah! Astrid took her first steps yesterday!!
