A Break from Depression

Wow.

Last weekend was the best weekend I have had in what felt like years.
It started last Wednesday when we drove up to Lake Havasu City to spend sometime with Ryan's family. We got into town just before dinner, and Laurie and I were able to catch up, fix some dinner and unwind. From Tucson, Uncle Jim brought a case of his fresh homebrews and we cracked them open that evening. We visited, the kids played, it was all very relaxing. Then on Thursday, we spent the morning getting Thanksigiving Dinner on the table. I made a couple of side dishes, including a yummy pasta salad, that Jenn would have made if she had been there. I ate until I couldn't barely move, then we watched a couple of movies, napped, and ate some more.

Friday we went to Mark's shop, and I got to play with a PLASMA CUTTER. Oh my god, I WANT ONE!!! So I made some signs out of metal, cut out some stuff, had a blast. I had never done anything quite like that before, and I think that I now want to learn more about metal.

Then I went visiting my oldest friend, Rachel. We gossiped, laughed, and gabbed just like old times. We had dinner together again, and I thought about the plasma torch some more.

On Saturday, I went over to the shop again, and this time I actually did some art. I am so excited about it. I cut out a really great fish and a stand. Mark welded it together. I cut out some bug shapes, and some more signs. I made a plaque for Penny's grave, and a gift for my friend January. Then I came home, and my sister-in-law Sara picked us up to take us to The Culture Shok. See the links to my other sister-in-law, Kari's site for what happened there! Then we all came home and Kari and I made enchiladas, which were devoured. Then We all headed to Sara's and sat around talking and drinking into the wee hours.

We headed home on Sunday, and the trip was fast, and thankfully not as busy as I thought it would be.

Last weekend Ruled.

Last weekend was very much needed! Mark and I said the same thing on the way home. It was short, but a great time. Glad we got to spend some time together.
