Holy cow! Astrid is officially crawling! Granted she moves backwards, but up on all fours with head held high! She also does this funny position where her legs are straight with her bum up in the air, in a sort of 'downward facing dog' yoga position. Today she crawled to the entertainment area in the family room and was pushing buttons and trying to eat the xbox controller. Ryan scooped her up and whispered in to her head, "No honey, you are too little to play xbox, you have to wait until you are three."
I worked the last three days in a row, so Ryan became the primary caregiver for the weekend. I leave at 630a and get home almost 8p for those days, so I'm not really there, you know? I know he feels it, and he pointed out how anxious Aurora gets too. She needs a little one on one time to help her settle down.
I found this poem and wanted to share:
Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. ...Kahlil Gibran

No! Not crawling! Whats next - walking? Then off to college!
Steph,
You should read more of Gibran's stuff. My Mom was really big into his writing when I was a kid and had all his books. Awesome author!
