Did I tell you that my favorite Holliday is Halloween? Candy...Skelletons...Witches...Costumes... Ahh...Love.it.
I worked (of course) on Halloween, and was the only one who even slightly dressed up. Last year, myself and the psychiatric nurse were the only ones that dressed up. This year I wore glittery red devil horns. How ironic is that in a catholic hospital? Anyway, I was in triage that day, and it was a great day! I don't think it was ever overwhelmingly busy, and no one seemed to be in a terrible mood either. Normally triage is a rotten place to be. Triage is where after you sign in to the ER, the nurse takes your vital signs, askes a bunch of questions then sends you back out to the waiting room to wait indefinitely. People hate that. People hate triage nurses too. But Halloween was different, and for a change, good.
Ryan took the girls trick-or-treating to the local mall. He met up with Auggie and his family and then they trapsed around the mall eating candy and running around. Ryan said it was chaos, hundreds of little kids under the age of 10 racing around in a candy-fueled frenzy. Ryan was a little bedraggled by the time I got home. Aurora was supremely jittery from her feast of sugar, and Astrid sticky-tired. Isn't that what Halloween is about, though?
Today is our friend Jason's birthday. Happy birthday Jay! He's 23!

Halloween is one of the few nights a year when children are allowed to run on a sugar high. We sure had that at our house as well. They all spept very fitfully, and we had lots of candy-hangover nocturnal wanderings going on.
Like the pic Ryan. Its cool
