What I learned over thanksgiving...

We went to Havasu for Thanksgiving...  Many relatives and lots of good food and good times were to be had by all.  But a highlight for me, at least, was a lesson in welding at Mark's shop. Welding is nothing like I have ever experienced.  The heat, the retinal-searing UV light, the ability to melt steel into forms that are both beautiful and useful...It so freaking cool.

But earlier in the day, we had visited John and Michelle's shop to look at VW dune buggy that our friend has for sale.
This is the buggy that Ryan, Kelly and I test drove.   Nice looking isnt it??
Well, I decided to test drive it also...

This is the chair that gave its life to help stop the buggy as it went crashing through John and Michelle's shop...with me at the wheel.

Here are the drawers that I smashed into... Yeah that is like a 6-thousand dollar snap-on tool box.

Oh yeah, I also ran over my friend john in the process.  I guess he was trying to stop the buggy, or maybe grab the gear shift or something....

I was absolutely mortified.  I am pictured here bawling my fool head off.

In the words of Kelly, "Thank god we weren't test-driving motor homes!"

I know that isn't a funny story - but when I got to Kelly's comment - I laughed out loud. That is SUCH a Kelly comment. I'm glad that nothing serious happened, and you are ok.

Yup, typical Kelly. Did this all occur after I left?
